Number Nine Brook Bridge
North of Thousand Acres Ranch - Stony Creek, NY

1918   Old Bridge #12

#9 Brook RR Bridge 1918
Walt Favro Collection

Photo below from November 2008
61" high x 58'-9 " length

The original bridge was a wood Howe truss built c.1867 with a 65' span and replaced with the same in 1883.  The bridge we see in these photos was probably built in 1891.  The deck was replaced in 1921 and in 1927 the north abutment was encased in concrete.  It is in worse shape than the original.  In 1943 it was strengthened as part of the upgrade for the mine.
